Hamilton Bohannon - Wake Up (1983 Soul/Electro)

This is one of my favorite boogie/soul tracks of all-time, it comes off the LP "The Bohannon Drive" released in 1983. It has an incredibly soulful and loose feel, the synth sounds are amazing and the message is simple "Wake Up"!

Stay Tuned!

Some you may have noticed the serious lack of posts as of late, the reason being the amount of time involved in recording and mastering these old records then uploading them etc...

Although I love 320kbps (high quality) mp3's as much as the next man, I think it's time to start posting more music, more frequently, which means I may have to let some 192's slip in here and there. Anyways, if you're still viewing the blog on the regular basis please let me know you're out there and leave a comment or two (it's open to all viewers now!).

To all the regular listeners of "One Day Later" radio (brooklynradio.net) I want to apologize for the horrible state of the website, it is out of my hands and is just as frustrating to me as anyone. Hopefully they will work out these issues very soon.

The good news is, I have tons of amazing music to share so expect the blog to be back with a vengance!

To those in the Vancouver area please come out to my release party tonight!

The Cookie Jar - Volume 2 (Out Now!)

"Four diverse edits/mashemups from Vancouver, BC's U-Tern, whose first EP flew out of here (just like this one is sure to - "limited to 500, no repress"). "Trilogy" is a squelchy new disco / rnb hybrid with Kelis on vox, followed by a suped up edit of Chocolate Milk's disco/funk heater "Who's Gettin It Now." Flip it for a great, vocoder'd-out take Three 6 Mafia with "Disco Sizzurp," plus some atmospheric ghettotech on "Look At That Booty." - Turntable Lab

Get it at these fine record stores...

Digital release coming very soon!
