Kelley Polar Quartet - Hammer / Anvil (2002 Disco)
Kelley Polar is probably best known for his collaborative work with Metro Area front man Morgan Geist. His string arrangements were the highlights of records like "Miura" and "Caught Up" and instantly made me grab every single Metro Area release I could at the time. This EP is essentially a continuation of that early Environ sound as it was released in close proximity to the MA releases. This is striped down analog disco/boogie at it's finest, pure class.
